John Wayne offers land to Ky for refugee farming

Former South Vietnamese vice premier Nguyen Cao Ky says actor John Wayne sent a letter offering 17 000 acres in Arizona to aid refugee farming. Ky plans a self sufficient farming community and aims to work on the land rather than lead a group. Ky and Madame Ky with five children arrived at Dulles on a reunion trip after Saigon fall.

Security Is Termed Troubled Uncertain

Laotian workers strike an American security firm supplying embassies in Vientiane. Demonstrators surround the US embassy as officials burn non essential papers. Mill Worker Rescued From Silo After Fatal Blast

In Davenport a grain processing complex blast Friday left Ferrel Cleeton dead and seven others hospitalized or missing. Fred Rykerd, listed as missing, was found alive in a damaged silo by a National Guard helicopter and rescued with serious burns. He was treated at Mercy Hospital and later transferred to Franciscan burn center in Rock Island.

Military Government Declares No Martial Law in Lebanon

Lebanon's new military government said it will not impose martial law to enforce a ceasefire between rightist militiamen and Palestinian guerrillas and will pursue talks with the Palestinians. Brig.
