Tragedy Ties to Family Struggles and Train Incident
Police say Teresa Gerleman and her son Henry were struck near the Ninth Avenue crossing by an Union Pacific train in Belle Plaine. Records show a history of domestic issues and medical struggles for Gerleman, with prior assault and protective order filings. Authorities note no evidence linking the deaths to a separate April incident and warn against copycat actions while communities offer support.
