Iowa joins interstate distance learning pact to cut costs
Gov. Terry Branstad signed into law a bill creating an interstate registration reciprocity agreement aimed at reducing fees for out-of-state distance education providers and Iowa colleges. The measure will allow automatic registration of distance courses in member states, saving tuition costs and enabling refunds through the Iowa Attorney General if needed. It also establishes a Tuition Refund Fund and spurs future state authorization reciprocity participation.
