Presbyterians Propose System to Boost Black Women Pastors
The Call System Task Force of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) recommends a standardized two year program to reduce old boy networks and ensure at least 20 percent of profiles sent to congregations come from women, minorities, or older and disabled pastors. The plan aims to place qualified women and minorities in final candidate pools and faces cultural resistance tied to traditional views of leadership and the divine.
