High Lysine Corn May Cut Pheasant Loss This Fall
LDLIFE scientists in Illinois report that pheasant chicks die mainly from October to December, with many losses due to diet. Tests show pheasants on a balanced ration gain weight, high lysine corn yields larger gains, while normal corn causes weight loss. If high lysine corn becomes common, autumn waste corn could boost the survival of the prior summer’s pheasant crop.
