Pole sitter Sam Hornish Jr suffered a scare at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as he slid into a safety barrier while practicing in a backup car on Bump Day. He was uninjured and the damaged car will be repaired for Carb Day and the race. Hornish led speeds overall this month but has crashed three times in six starts. His backup car will be ready for Friday session ahead of the May 28 Indy 500.
