Iowa faces mixed effects from medical liability costs as doctors relocate to, or remain in, the state. With a projected 5,000 physicians by June, net gains contrast with concerns over premiums. A survey finds 11 percent consider leaving for higher liability costs and 30 percent change case types due to premiums.

National tally shows 47 U S colleges and universities now exceed 1 billion dollars in endowment assets led by Harvard and Yale. Boston College joins the ranks as endowment nears 1.15 billion, while Grinnell College reaches the billion-dollar club. Endowments enable funding beyond day-to-day needs and fuel expansion.
