Ruben Studdard edged Clay Aiken to win the American Idol crown in the Fox finale. The 24 year old Birmingham Alabama singer thanked fans after performing Flying Without Wings as the cheering crowd chanted his name.

Unknown Korean War Marine Identified After Decades
The Pentagon says Marine Pfc. Ronald D. Lilledahl of Minneapolis became the first American service member buried as an unknown from the Korean War to be identified and returned to his family. His remains, along with another unknown, were exhumed in 1999 from the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii.
