Four in Line for Reagan Civil Rights Commission Seats
The four nominees in line for the Civil Rights Commission under President Reagan are Morris B. Abram Robert A. Destro John H Bunzel and Carolynn Reid Wallace. Destro has prior experience as general counsel to the Catholic League and was once considered for the panel but not acted on. Bunzel otherwise indicated by Belmont California wife Barbara that he was under consideration. Abram has longstanding civil rights advocacy while voicing concern over affirmative action. Rivals replacing current members include Saltzman Berry Ramirez and Ruckelshaus, with Saltzman warning the commission should reflect civil rights policy rather than administration aims.
