Iowa praised for transportation stewardship in NAM analysis
A National Motorists Association study ranks Iowa 28th nationwide in drivers rights and transportation fund use, noting Iowa’s use of revenue for upkeep while criticizing “traffic blitzes” and penalties on first offense drunk driving. The analysis cites 24 metrics and 151.1 belt and speeding tickets per 100 million vehicle miles, compared with 124.6 national average, while a DC highway group questions its credibility.
