Uganda offers compensation to Asians expelled in 1972

Ugandan President Yusufu Lule invited the return of Asian businessmen whose major firms were not transferred to African owners and offered compensation to those whose businesses were expropriated. Abel Muzorewa, Black Prime Minister elect of Rhodesia, said he would assume office before month end and expected President Carter to recognize the new government. He spoke as four days of London talks began between Cyrus Vance and British leaders on a joint peace strategy for the former colony.

Israeli cabinet approves Begin position for Egypt talks on autonomy

Israel's cabinet endorses Prime Minister Begin's hard line for talks with Egypt on Palestinian autonomy. A 36-year-old Houston man, John Marzloff, serving a 10-year bank robbery sentence, died from suspected stab wounds at the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary. FBI says he was killed with homemade weapons left at the scene. Officials aim to close the prison with 1985 target date after a dozen inmate slayings in 30 months.

C R woman hurt in crash near Robins

Lynn C Mead 21 of 2102 North Towne Court NE was reported in good condition at St Luke s Hospital after a Sunday car crash one mile north of Robins on the Council Street extension. Driver David L Norton 24 of 6804 Kelburn Lane NE failed to negotiate a sharp curve, the car veered off and overturned. Mead admitted with lower torso injuries. Norton released after treatment.
