Marion Indians win 3A team title on Fopma’s late surge
Marion senior Jeremy Fopma won the 1,600-meter run in 4:17.66, holding off Myles Bach of Center Point Urbana to spark a rally that put Marion ahead of Atlantic at Drake Stadium. Harrison Vanderlinden and a 1-6 in the 1,600 plus a 42.96 clocking by the 400 relay sealed the Indians’ second straight 3A title as Sergeant Bluff-Luton was disqualified.
