Berthany and his son Lens from Marchand Dessalines Haiti survived sizable neck growths in two surgeries arranged by Cedar Rapids volunteers. Mercy Medical Center doctors Shane Gailushas and Vincent Reid led procedures after Steve Scheib funded travel and lodging.
