Roger Hamilton Dinsmore aged 51 died at home at 4 p.m. Monday on 1920 First Avenue East. Mrs J Hamilton Bell aged 87 died in a local hospital at 11:30 p.m. Monday. Charles Wakefield Black aged 82 died at home on 908 Sixth Avenue Southeast at 2 a.m. Monday. Jay A Countryman aged 54 died in a local hospital at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Mirl Morrison aged 42 received six months in jail and a $1 fine plus costs from Judge H. C. Ring after pleading guilty to daytime larceny from a building. On County Attorney Crissman’s recommendation, the sentence was suspended if Morrison leaves the state. He allegedly took 30 used storage batteries from Sam Estes’s garage at 810 Third Street SW on April 30. Loren Callahan and Charles Pierce, arrested with Morrison, were released.
Marshall Thorpe of 716 Second Avenue SW was jailed by Justice of the Peace M. H. Sorenson on a warrant charging drunk and disorderly conduct after his 3:30 p.m. arrest at the Wilson and Company plant by Deputy Harlan Snyder. The warrant was issued Thursday.
Judge C J Haas approved the sale of five Mount Vernon lots from the Nancy Flora estate for 1700 to Mr and Mrs Neil A Minor. Oscar S Busenbach acted as plaintiff and referee in the partition action against Florence Berry and Raron Robert and Maxine Busenbach. The sale was approved Tuesday. The deceased Nancy Flora died June 24.
Marathon Finance Corporation moved to dismiss a $168 action against Lloyd F. Lincoln and Corrine Lincoln. Judge C. J. Hass granted the motion on Monday. The case, tied to medical care allegedly provided to Mrs. Lincoln in September, was dismissed with prejudice.
Clarence E Schumaker, defendant in a divorce suit filed April 1 by Hildred A Schumaker, Tuesday entered a cross petition charging his wife with cruel and inhuman treatment. He also seeks custody of a child. The marriage occurred February 5 1936 at Morrison Illinois.
Edwin Benesh a farmer near Koenigsmark school reported to Sheriff Jim Smith that 200 White Rock spring chickens weighing two to four pounds each were stolen Monday night from a brooder house on his farm located about a quarter mile west of the school.
Helen Lewis filed divorce against her husband E. A. Lewis alleging desertion. The couple married August 10 1936 in Elko Nevada.

Roger Hamilton Dinsmore 1920 First Avenue NE Cedar Rapids died at home after a brief illness Monday at 4 p.m. He was 49 and had lived in Sibley and Sioux City before moving to Cedar Rapids in 1939. He married Irene Tregilgus in 1915 at Sibley and is survived by his wife a daughter two grandchildren and a brother. He belonged to the Presbyterian church the American Legion and the Masons. Funeral plans pending Turner mortuary handling arrangements.
Following a long illness new resident of Cedar Rapids dies at 2 a.m. Tuesday. Born April 17, 1859 in Fulton Iowa he lived in Cedar Rapids 49 years and worked as a carpenter for 30 years. He married Viola Shoaff January 1 1884 at Fulton. Survived by son Louis F Cedar Rapids daughter Mrs Herbert Illen Whittier California three grandchildren four great grandchildren. Member Daniels Park Presbyterian church and Knights of Pythias. Body at Barta chapel. Funeral arrangements to be announced later.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Viola O Connell who died Sunday at her home 3016 Avenue NW will be held at Turner chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday conducted by Rev. R N Coolidge. Burial follows at Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.

Police warn residents against buying 14 karat brass rings with glass settings sold by at least two hucksters in Cedar Rapids. Two or more people, including Dr. J W Pirie and Jack Frost of the Embassy club, bought rings after hearing sob stories. rings are stamped 14 K and cost about $2 per dozen according to acting detective chief L B Marshall.
B. T. Perrine told Cedar Rapids Retail Credit members that curbing installment buying could foster sound credit habits. He said the policy aims to shift consumers toward balanced practices between pay as you go and long term plans, while freeing defense production. The group’s picnic is June 5 at Marion Country Club, signaling the last meeting until fall. Two delegates from Cedar Rapids plan to attend the national Retail Credit convention in New York June 16 to 19.

Virginius Carter 33, son-in-law of the Johnson Agrue family, confessed to killing five members at their farm home in Lawrenceburg Indiana.
