Dill faced charges with his sister in law Grace Dill of Fredericktown over alienating Margie Dill's husband Wendell Dill.

Washington reports show the Senate finance committee approving a redrafted windfall tax aimed at processors who kept processing taxes after the AAA ruling. A car carrying Mrs. A E Blair and four others skidded in gravel eight miles north of Cedar Rapids toward Troy Mills, overturning twice. Blair suffers shoulder bruises. Mrs Lewis Severin has deep hip cuts and leg bruises. Mrs J E Sammon has leg face and arm bruises. Four-year-old Robert Severin was unhurt and five‑month-old Jimmy Blair may have a back injury. All were taken to St Luke's hospital for first aid.
In New York John Fiorenza 24 a paroled upholsterer's helper goes on trial for the murder of fiction writer Nancy Evans Titterton in Beekman Place. His attorney Henry Klauber argues a neighborhood fiend attacked a resident days earlier and Fiorenza might have mistaken the crime or confessed after newspaper reports.
Washington AP Senator Shipstead challenged the Reconstruction Finance Corporation over an “extraordinary procedure” in a plan to sell and dismantle the Minneapolis and St. Louis railroad. The hearing cited potential 2,600 layoffs and Minneapolis staff cuts, with $4.454 million paid in 1934 salaries.

O Connor of Dubuque Iowa as chair man of the land bank board of directors succeeding D P Hogan who resigned the presidency on May 1 O Connor has been with the farm credit association of Omaha since February 1934 and for the last year and a half has been general agent supervising executive of all district units in Omaha He will keep that post
The sky cleared in Cedarr Rapids on Wednesday afternoon raising the temperature to 88 at 2 45 p m after a cloudy morning. The day began at 52 at 7 a m with a high of 80 Tuesday and steady fall to 72 by midnight per pape Inskeep company records.
A seaplane carrying seven people including William Montgomery of Rockland sank off Rockland Maine. Coast guards rescued five others and the pilot while Montgomery was trapped and drowned as the craft settled five feet underwater. The AB 9 cable boat crew witnessed the crash and aided in the response.
Identification confirms 46 year old Harry P. Williams of the Wedell-Williams Air Service as one victim in the fiery crash near Harelson Louisiana. The other victim is pilot John D. Worthen, 25.
Indianapolis workers renovating an old house once visited by Abraham Lincoln uncovered a half pint bottle of whisky hidden in a wall. Owner H. C. Williams believes the bottle was left when the house was built about 120 years ago.
A Cedar Rapids health camp aims to treat Joan, a red headed girl at risk of chorea, by tonsil removal and a summer stay at Camp Good Health. The Public Health Nursing association seeks donations to fund the camp for physically handicapped children of the needy.
Mrs. Sara Delano Roosevelt aged 82 suffered an impacted hip and cracked bone from a fall at a New York City home. She was cared for at Hyde Park and kept to bed for at least two weeks after doctors advised rest. The President plans to visit Hyde Park for two to three days after learning of the injury.
Fay Webb of the screen won a divorce from Rudy Vallee after testifying their marriage produced emotional climaxes. An uncontested interlocutory decree by Superior Judge Arthur Crum ended bitter litigation begun in 1934. Webb, whose Ames, Iowa heritage was noted, said she lost 15 pounds and faced curses at home. her father, Clarence Webb, Police Chief, corroborated their strained marriage seen at Vallee’s Maine lodge visit.
James E.
