Eastern Iowa hosts three of nations top prep archers
Anamosa senior David Machart won the high school division and overall at the national archery meet in Louisville with a 299, earning $15,750 in scholarships. Teammate Trevor Wehling scored 297 to finish second, while Mount Vernon eighth-grader Logan Kelly shot 296 to win the middle school division. All three qualified for the World Championship and joined the elite all-star team bound for South Africa. They shared in trophies, bows, and additional merchandise and scholarships totaling $18,250 among them.
