The piece notes Shannon’s moody minor chords, his overlooked stature, and a lasting hold of the songs beyond their era. Diagnosing sick building syndrome by Dale Kueter

Simon Turner of Healthy Buildings International in Fairfax argues that half of public buildings may have air unfit to breathe. For 2500 dollars per 100000 square feet his firm tests for fungi dust gases bacteria and more and offers remedies. He cites lawsuits like a 5.5 billion class action in Texas and a Rockwell International settlement as signs the issue will grow. Turner links poor ventilation to the energy crisis of the 1970s and notes one third of buildings inspected lack outside air intake. He warns that smoking bans alone fail and emphasizes proper heating and cooling system maintenance as the building’s lungs.
