End of farming era noted at reformatory
An Iowa reformatory in Anamosa ended its long running farming program after phasing out last fall. The state halted crop planting on 1100 acres and leased land to four local farmers while dairy cattle and beef herds were sold earlier. Warden Calvin Augur hopes a legislative study will recommend reinstitution.
