Man 28 faces contributing delinquency charge in Cedar Rapids
Harlan L. Mathes, 28, arrested by a Linn County sheriff's deputy for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He allegedly transported a 15 year old runaway from New Mexico to Cedar Rapids where she was held for New Mexico authorities. Mathes appeared in municipal court and was ordered to move or plead by Thursday. He is jailed in Linn County on a $500 bond.

Former Nebraska cattleman on trial over stolen car to find witness
James B. Kimball 46 former director of the Nebraska Cattlemen's Association testifies in Cedar Rapids federal court that he took a 1969 Cadillac Eldorado from Lincoln to Waterloo to locate a witness for an acquitted Danville Illinois hijacking case. He admits acting without permission saying it was a spur of the moment decision. He stayed in custody since Waterloo arrest November 21. The jury is deliberating.
