Hitler Double a Myth Discredited by aide
SOUTHERN GERMANY AP reports Gerhardt Herrgesell, Hitler’s secretary, denied the double theory. He said Hitler never used a double and that Goebbels, Ribbentrop, and others clung to it in last days. Herrgesell claimed Hitler sought an Allied split over Russia and discussed strategies at Berchtesgaden. He also cited orders to plant deception about Soviet troop strength.
