West High alum shoots first feature in Iowa City Solon
West High School graduate and Iowa City native Mokotsi Rukundo filmed his first feature length crime drama largely in rural Iowa cities including Iowa City Solon and Davenport. The East of Middle West screenplay draws on Midwestern settings and themes of forgiveness as a teen runaway and a widowed father collide after a pivotal act. The project, produced with Brian Lucke Anderson, earned festival attention and awaits a streaming release.
