Those detained include Joseph Wakelin former Hot Springs chief of police Herbert Dutch Akers former chief of detectives Cecil Brock former lieutenant in charge of identification John Stover operator of the Hot Springs municipal airport Morris Lotis and Mrs AlC Dyer alleged to have rented a cottage to Alvin Karpis and gang members in 1935.
Gov. Horner called an emergency session for Friday to approve stop gap relief funds for Chicago where about 85 000 people face two weeks on limited wartime rations and to assist 370 other communities with depleted relief funds. The move aims to speed aid and allow passage by Tuesday midnight.
