Food sales program doubles SNAP dollars at markets
The Double Up Food Bucks initiative, funded by USDA and run through Iowa Healthiest State Initiative, matches SNAP EBT dollars spent on fresh fruit and vegetables at farmers markets and New Pioneer stores. Up to 10 dollars per day, funds can be used at both venues, supporting local farmers and expanding access to healthy produce. The Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market opens May 26.
