The Noelridge Farmers Market at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids runs Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays through Oct 13 with free admission and vendor stalls. Houby Days celebrates 40th year in Cedar Rapids Czech Village

The Houby Days festival honoring Czech heritage marks its 40th anniversary in Cedar Rapids, Friday through Sunday in Czech Village near New Bohemia. Events include a pageant, parade, carnival, live music, a Taste of Czech and Slovak, and the Miss Czech Slovak Iowa pageant with tickets available by phone.

NewBo Bike Swap Ride and Czech School Registration

The NewBo Bike Swap and Ride happens Saturday at NewBo City Market Cedar Rapids. Local shops Goldfinch Cyclery Northtowne Cycling host a children’s obstacle course and 20 and 40 mile group rides depart at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The swap runs noon to 4 p.m. Ben Schmidt Trio Mississippi String Band perform. Czech School registrations open for 2017 adult and youth classes with session dates June 12 to July 14 and June 15 to July 13 respectively. Co op to Co op Ride Rescheduled In Iowa City

The annual Co op to Co op Ride moved to 5 30 p m Thursday due to storms. Starting at College Green Park participants travel to Coralville for food drinks and live music then gather on Facebook for updates. The Crisis Center hosts a screening and panel on food insecurity at FilmScene Sunday with free admission and donations accepted.

CERT Training Opens in Independence June 3 10

Historic West Branch Walks Highlight Hoover Birthplace

Park rangers from Herbert Hoover National Historic Site lead walking tours of the historic downtown district in West Branch each Saturday in June and July. The one hour, about one third mile stroll begins at 10 a.m. at the Visitor Center and ends at the West Branch Heritage Museum on Main Street.
