Iowa City selects Westerhaus as UI affirmative action director
Charlotte Westerhaus will become the University of Iowa affirmative action director on June 1, succeeding Susan Mask. The 46 year old from Cleveland returns to academia after Rockwell Collins and Purdue, with a $110000 salary. Westerhaus cites diversity goals, campus leadership, and Iowa City ties as key motivators while acknowledging recruitment and retention of minority students, faculty, and staff as a challenge.
