Money funds see slight yield declines week to week
The seven day average yield on money market mutual funds eased to 4.97 percent in the week ended Tuesday from 4.99. The 30 day yield slipped to 5.00 percent from 5.01, while seven day comp and 30 day compounded yields also edged lower. Average portfolio maturity stayed at 58 days. Bank Rate Monitor reported flat yields for money market accounts at 2.52 percent and for interest bearing checking at 1.20 percent with six month CDs at 4.67 percent. Total assets of 593 retail funds rose $52.7 million to $703.94 billion, with total money market assets at $1.163 trillion.
