Damaged TMI Core May Be Moved for Reprocessing
Nuclear engineer Dr. J Stephen Herring of EG G says the badly damaged Three Mile Island fuel core could be trucked to Idaho National Laboratory for reprocessing. He notes the core holds unused fuel worth about 75 million dollars and may be less radioactive than typical due to limited use at the time of the accident.
