Clark Sets New Qualifying Mark In Memorial Day 500 Trials

Scotland’s Timmy Clark shattered all qualifying records at INDIANAPOLIS speedway for the Memorial Day 500, averaging 148.828 mph with a best lap of 159.477 mph in a rear engine Lotus Ford. The Briton, a former world champion, drew a large ovation as 33 drivers will start the race after today’s time trials conclude next weekend. Bobby Marshman among qualifiers as trials continue.
