Iowans gain new health care plan options for 2016
The Iowa Insurance Division announced seven companies have applied to sell ACA plans via Healthcare.gov, with Coventry Health Care of Iowa Medica Insurance United Healthcare and others offering nationwide or regional availability. Open enrollment starts November 1, 2015.

College sued over free speech at Muscatine MCC
Twelve Muscatine Community College students filed a federal lawsuit alleging MCC administrators and Eastern Iowa Community College District leaders violated First Amendment rights by trying to control Calumet newspaper content and retaliating against reporters and staff. The suit cites disciplinary letters, schedule changes, budget cuts, and threats of shutdown following coverage of faculty grants and student government conflicts.
