Independence marks Industry Week with a proclamation by Mayor Frank Brimmer and the City Council. The Chamber of Commerce and the Industrial Development Commission will host a reception at the Wapsipinicon Golf Course for industrial leaders as Joe Studer of the SBA discusses the year ahead. An industrial tour is set for Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. with city and county officials invited. The highlight comes Saturday at 12 30 p.m. at the Allerton Axtell Inn when Geater Machining and Manufacturing Co will receive the regional Subcontractor of the Year award from Senator Roger Jensen with guests from Rockwell International and Collins Government Avionics Division attending.
