Philadelphia and Denver Mayoral Fates Reported in Unofficial Returns
Philadelphia voters headed to a June Democratic primary showdown between David Marston and Bill Green while Denver chose incumbent mayor Bill McNichols with over fifty percent in a four candidate field. Green led Philadelphia’s primary but a court-ordered recount was ordered for disputed wards amid a 201,000 to 158,000 vote gap with Bowser contesting results. Marston, a former U.S. attorney, won the Republican nomination amid past clashes with Carter and Bell. McNichols, 69, won Denver’s nonpartisan race with 54.2 percent. Muftic was 2nd, with Mitchell and Sudmeyer trailing.
