Parole officer charged in two robberies in Des Moines

Darryl Dean Johnson a 41 year old parole officer for the 5th Judicial District was arrested on two counts of second degree robbery after allegedly using a badge to extort wallets. He posted 26000 bond and faces multiple charges with investigators identifying a second April robbery in Newton.

Family fights exam order over boy at Cherokee Mental Health Inst

The family of 11 year old Patrick Dilworth says a court ordered external medical and psychiatric exam was never performed at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute in Des Moines. Judge Rosenberg doubts DHS complied with the order. The boy has been in a locked ward since October for severe behavior.
