Arrested in Fishkill North Carolina Brockelhurst said Theander was killed on a lonely road and the car found near Fort Worth after Griffith was fatally wounded during a robbery attempt. Also with him was Bernice Felton his parole sponsor’s daughter. Brockelhurst was sentenced January 10 1935 in Chicago for armed robbery.

The British destroyer Hunter was badly damaged by an explosion off Almeria, Spain, injuring 24 and killing eight crew members. The cause remains unknown, with reports the ship struck a mine or was hit by a submarine. The vessel was towed to Almeria as a fleet inquiry began.
Edward Stockley an American reported his watch stolen twenty six years ago. Police say they found the watch but Stockley cannot be located.

Three Chicago residents were seriously hurt in a Wednesday afternoon crash on Highway 30 about six miles east of Tama. The Webb couple and Mrs. Josephine R. Nims sustained multiple injuries including fractures, chest wounds, scalp lacerations, and facial cuts.
