Mass Held At Nativity as Gaza Siege Ends
Worshippers filled the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem for Sunday services for the first time since the siege ended. Palestinian leader Erekat blasted Israel's actions while Sharon faced a Likud rebuke over a Palestinian state vote. Netanyahu said peace moves are unlikely without security, and Arafat prepared to visit Jenin Bethlehem and Nablus amid West Bank violence. Pope John Paul II welcomed the siege’s end and urged trust between Israelis and Palestinians.
