Mount Vernon zoning dispute targets downtown retail limit

Plaza Furniture Mart owners E and G Enterprises sue Linn County District Court to void a Mount Vernon ordinance barring certain retailers outside downtown. The city council declined to amend the ordinance, which also restricts highway service retailers, and notes the site previously housed an auction business now ruled noncompliant.
