Gap in physicians disclosing medical errors found in study
A University of Iowa study of 538 faculty, residents, and medical students reveals a gap between doctors' stated willingness to disclose hypothetical medical errors and actual disclosures. Most would reveal minor harm hypothetically, but only 41 percent disclosed minor errors and 5 percent disclosed major errors. Fear of malpractice cited as a reason.
