Bedspread Gift to Agnew Returned at Maine Visit
A retired Lewiston officer traced the Maine bedspread incident linked to Vice President Agnew. Curtis denied sending any gift. Agnew planned to return the bedspread claiming it spurred antiwar heckling. Petropulos sought to present it at a Republican convention but gifts were seized by Secret Service.
