Sugar quota talks delay until next year
Agriculture Secretary Anderson seeks new sugar quotas as part of postwar planning. Senate Finance Committee Chair Millikin warns a resolution extending current limits may come this session, with full reallocation debated next session. Anderson argues quotas should reflect rising domestic needs and wartime Cuba supplies. Rep. Crawford calls for a flexible quota system to let each area produce as much as it can, until shortages are resolved.
