New Draft Rules Clarify Towans Deferment Criteria
Col Ralph Lancaster outlines revised draft regulations for Towans. Eligibility for occupational deferments now hinges on age groups 18 25 excluded from general deferment, 26 29 limited to war production support, and 30 37 eligible if engaged in national health safety or war production work. Local boards must adjudicate cases individually and aim to meet quotas from the top groups first. Fathers receive priority in classifications and federal employee deferments require official requests or orders.
