Martin T Manton once presiding judge of the U S circuit court of appeals is confined to Lewisburg penitentiary hospital Saturday night. The 59 year old former jurist serving a two year sentence for bribe accepting has suffered four strokes. He cannot be released before November unless commuted.
An earthquake of moderate intensity struck the Aleutian islands off Alaska on Saturday, announced Dr. Roy K. Marshall of the Fels Planetarium.
The Camp Good Health Fund began with 190.32 raised in its first day to aid Cedar Rapids physically handicapped children through the Public Health Nursing association.
