Environmental groups urge EPC to overturn DNR feedlot approval
Two Iowa environmental groups petition the Environmental Protection Commission to reverse the DNR decision approving an 11,600 head Supreme Beef feedlot near Monona. They claim the nutrient management plan underestimates manure output, risks Bloody Run Creek, and lacks an anti degradation review and proper erosion calculations. The petition also criticizes manure storage and field applications and cites potential water quality impacts in a trout stream watershed.
