Cedar Rapids man pleads guilty to lesser charges in fatal 2017 shooting
Zachary Ildefonso, 25, pleaded guilty in Linn County District Court to attempted murder, voluntary manslaughter and first degree burglary for the 2017 shooting of Heidi Stephens over a stolen purse at 1515 Second Ave SE. He admitted shooting Stephens and aiming at Andrew Shank, with a total prison term up to 60 years and a mandatory minimum of about 27.5 years.
