Cedar Rapids man pleads guilty to injuring infant last year
Kirk Allen Davis, 23, of Cedar Rapids pleaded guilty to three counts of child endangerment for injuring a 7 week old infant between May 27 and June 26. He admitted using unreasonable force causing rib and leg injuries and facial bruising. Sentencing is set for July 13 in Linn County District Court. Davis faces up to 15 years.

Iowa City UI student reports sexual assault in residence hall
UI police said a student reported an acquaintance sexually assaulted her early Saturday in a residence hall. Federal law requires disclosure to staff and students. no further details were released. The Sexual Misconduct Response Coordinator noted 13 reports last year, up from four in 2013, the highest in five years. In Linn County, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am rollover on Highway 13 near Austin Road sent driver Priscilla Warner and passenger Brian Jolley to St. Luke's Hospital with non life threatening injuries. the crash remains under investigation.
