Mother of slain daughter helps change law in Wisconsin
Sherry Ankcich, mother of Alisha Bromfield, led a campaign after a hung jury blocked homicide convictions in 2012. Gov. Scott Walker signed a 2014 bill removing voluntary intoxication as a defense, affecting future cases though not Cooper’s retrial where he was found guilty of homicide and faces life in prison.
