Nude dancing allowed at Mount Joy theater ruling

An Iowa judge ruled nude dancing at the Southern Comfort Free Theater for the Performing Arts is a form of art though not fine art. Owner Jeff Marshall was acquitted of public indecent exposure charges and the venue may continue nude performances under court interpretation.

Consultant to study Cedar Rapids school improvements cost

Shive Hattery Inc. will estimate renovation costs for the Cedar Rapids district facilities plan. The task force, formed last summer, projects enrollment growth of about 500 students in five years, mainly in elementary grades. Committee members from 23 elementary schools will refine recommendations after cost estimates, with final decisions expected this fall.
