Firms Approve Nuclear Power Plant Program
Seven utilities approved a plan to build a privately funded full scale nuclear plant in Illinois at 45 million dollars. If the AEC signs off, construction will take about five years with General Electric as prime contractor and Bechtel as engineer-constructor. The group will form Nuclear Power Group, Inc. to oversee the project.
