Iowa approves bonds for three state university buildings
Gov. Branstad signs a measure authorizing the Board of Regents to issue 63.8 million dollars in bonds for three new campus buildings. The University of Iowa would get a 24.65 million law school building on a 3.5 acre bluff site, University of Northern Iowa would add a 8.5 million phase, and Iowa State University a 30.5 million agronomy building. The plan is expected to create about 1600 construction jobs, with 600 linked to the UI law project, and the law school is to be completed by January 1, 1986.
