Fatal car crash near Saratoga claims McIntire man
Eastern Iowa report details the death of Paul Schaefer 20 of rural McIntire after a Friday night crash four miles north of Saratoga on a gravel road. He died after the car flipped onto him and he was pronounced dead at Howard County Hospital Cresco.

Cedar Rapids man charged with attempted murder in Swisher
Cedar Rapids resident Jack Lee Woods, 27, is jailed on a 50 000 bond for allegedly stabbing Eric Lee Shelton, 24, outside Herman's tavern in Swisher shortly after 12 30 a m Saturday. Shelton was treated at St Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids for chest and upper torso wounds.
