Legislature cautions on Regents funding amid budget tensions
Clarence Carney, Sioux City Republican, suggested the $692 million two year education bill did not hurt the Board of Regents. He and Rep. Tom Lind led scrutiny of the regents budget, noting a 4.6 percent cut and a gap between regents requests and the bill. Wayne Richey said the cut cost the regents $12.1 million and officials planned further review in 1982.
