Des Moines AP reports that several districts must bid up salaries to hire or retain teachers for next year, risking future funding shortages. Superintendent Jessie Parker suggests pooling staff and resources during the war period to bridge the gap, noting districts fear parents and pupils may resist returning to old districts after emergencies. She notes richer districts are also getting locked into higher offers as smaller districts bid to keep staff, potentially eroding city districts' advantage.
